Read More	Daughter of Joseph Nicholas Wittman & Mary Tuschoff; She was wife of Xavier Michael Kinzer Obit: Aug. 2, 1926-June 1, 2006 Hazel Rosalia Kinzer of Colton died Thursday night, June 1, 2006, of natural causes in Seattle at the age of 79. A funeral service will be held on Thursday. Rosary will start at 11:30 a.m. followed by Mass at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Uniontown. A graveside service will follow. Hazel was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Uniontown to Joseph and Mary Tuschoff Wittman. She often said that living on the farm was the best time of her life. She was so pleased that her nephew, Bill Kinzer, continues to farm this land. She loved her large family of brothers and sisters and her parents. Only four siblings are left: Betty Becker, Dick Wittman, Stella Kinzer and Marie Wolf. After she graduated from St. Boniface Catholic school, she attended the Sacred Heart Hospital nursing program in Spokane. She enjoyed nursing and worked in Santa Barbara, Calif., for a year before returning to work in the obstetrical unit at the local Colfax hospital. She was married April 21, 1951, to Xavier Michael (Mike) Kinzer. After farming hops in Moxee, Wash., for several years, they moved to Federal Way, Wash. There they raised their three daughters. Hazel excelled in home management on a dime and had the best yard in the area. She had such a green thumb she was the lead gardener for Enchanted Village Water Park for many years. She loved working outside with flowers. After retirement, Mike and Hazel returned to their beloved Palouse to again be near their roots. They owned a home in Colton and again she filled the yard with her touch of flowers. They both embraced the church and farm community and all their friends and family. Survivors include her daughters, Marilyn Hicks of Sun River, Wash., Bernice Meurk of Seattle and Michele Reckard of Anchorage, Alaska. She also has three wonderful sons-in-law and seven grandchildren. We will miss her quick smile and wit and of course her cinnamon rolls. She was preceded in death by her husband Mike. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local Catholic Church, Catholic school or Emergency Medical Services in Colton.
