LEERHOFF Heiko John Leerhoff was born on November 9, 1906 in Iowa. His parents, Heiko and Alma Leerhoff were born in Germany and came to the United States before they were married. Heiko was a farmer near Parkersburg, Iowa and greatly enjoyed the agricultural work. He married Bernice Hook on November 19, 1927. They had two children: Robert who lives in Fresno and Ruth who lives in San Diego. After retirement he lived in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Iowa area before moving to San Diego in 1968. Heiko trusted Christ as his Savior on December 5, 1944 and thereafter loved to talk to others about God's great salvation. He gathered with believers in the Hitesville Assembly in Iowa and later with the Waterloo Assembly. Here in San Diego he was in happy fellowship with Christians in San Diego Gospel Hall. He entered into the presence of the Lord on October 9, 1993, at the age of 86 years and 11 months. He leaves to mourn his wife, Bernice, a son Robert, a daughter Ruth, and four grandchildren: Susan Gremminger, of Madera, Cindy Mackey Phoenix, John of Hanford and Sharon of Fresno, and one great grandchild, Crystal Gremminger. He also leaves two brothers, Clarence and Clifford and one sister, Lela, all in Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
