Description	:	Heinrich (Henry) Adolph Peter Hagemann, son of Heinrich Andreas Friederich Hagemann and Dorethea (Mohr) Hagemann, was born April 7, 1855 in Itzenhoe, Germany. He was baptized and confirmed in Germany. Henry came to Adams County as a young man about 17 years old. His parents, who had both been born in Itzenhoe, Germany and five sisters, never came to the United States. Henry's father, Heinrich A F Hagemann, was a carpenter in Germany and his son followed in his father's footsteps and became a contractor and carpenter here in the United States. He built many house, etc. On October 11, 1873, he was united in marriage to Anna Dorothea Huckfeldt in Omaha, Nebraska. Anna's parents were Joachim Y. Huckfeldt, (Born August 4, 1880 in Itzenhoe, Germany and died June 17, 1908 in Adams County, Nebraska) and Ida (Tor Pump) Huckfeldt, (born January 18, 1824 in Germany and died November 20, 1893 in Adams County, Nebraska). Anna's father, Joachim, was a brother to Joseph Huckfeldt another early settler of Holstein, Nebraska. Anna had also been born in Itzenhoe, Germany on November 26, 1854. Henry and Anna were blessed with 12 children, six boys and six girls. The family lived northeast of Holstein on what was known as the Beal Ranch at that time. The children were: The six boys - John, Charles (Chas.), Gus, Henry, Fred and George; the girls - Dora (Fischer), Amelia (Bohlke) Mary (Beal), Anna (Woodard), Ella (Reider) and Leona (Moore). All of the children have now passed away. All of the boys did carpenter work with their father and also farmed. Later in life, Henry was with his John and farmed. Henry's son, Fred, kept up the carpenter shop and also was a contractor all of his life. He had a carpenter shop in Holstein and later a hardware store in Holstein in the old band building. Henry and Anna were members of the Zion Lutheran Church at Wanda all of their lives. He helped start and build the church. He was also a Sunday School teacher, a very kind christian man and a jolly person. In those days, the family had a very hard time to make both ends meet, but with God's help, they made it. After Anna died, which was on May 30, 1894 in Adams County, Nebraska, the oldest daughter Dora, took care of the family until she got married; then the next one took over and so on. They all grew up and made homes of their own with their families. Heinrich (Henry) A.P. Hagemann died February 20, 1928 and both he and Anna his wife, are buried at Wanda, Zion Lutheran Church cemetery (sic).
