Description	:	Helen Montague, 84, Topeka passed away June 12, 2010. Helen Montague was born July 13, 1925, in Manhattan, KS. She was the daughter of Otto and Theresa (Loehr) Anderson. She married Leo Montague on December 18, 1943, in Enid, Oklahoma before he shipped out to England during WW II. She enjoyed volunteering at Holy Name Church- bazaars, scouting, and school functions. Helen was an avid reader. She always had a project going sewing, re-doing furniture, painting, working on her picture albums & videos, all types of crafts. Helen Montague was born July 13, 1925, in Manhattan, KS. She was the daughter of Otto and Theresa (Loehr) Anderson. She married Leo Montague on December 18, 1943, in Enid, Oklahoma before he shipped out to England during WW II. She enjoyed volunteering at Holy Name Church- bazaars, scouting, and school functions. She enjoyed travel, campfires, games and old fashioned fudge. She was impossible to beat at Scrabble. Helens life revolved around her very large family Anderson, Boulton, Champagne, Church, Donahue, Donovan, Fargo, Hudson, McLaughlin, Montague, Montoya, Shy, Smith, Stouts-Schneider, Wall, Wiseman. Leo preceded Helen in death June 15, 2006. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Omar and Glenn, and her sister, and best friend Mary. She is survived by daughter, Terry Champagne, son-in law Doug, daughter, Kathy McLaughlin, son-in-law Dan. Three sons, Jeff Montague and Brad Merryman, Greg Montague and Donnita Akard, Joe Kelly Montague and daughter-in-law Kathy. All are from the Topeka area. She was a wonderful grandmother to Christopher & Carolyn Champagne, Kellie Kathleen & Thomas Carrigan, Eric, Nathan, Kara, Connor Joe, Nicole and Allison Grace Montague; and great-grandmother to Collin and Caitlyn Champagne. And expecting to arrive in September Hailey Ann Carrigan. She was a good ol Mom with the biggest, best smile in the world. She did have eyes in the back of her head and she was our lives memory maker. Family will greet friends Tuesday, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd. Topeka KS 66614. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Due to road construction, please approach the funeral home from 21st and Urish Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Mater Dei Holy Name, 1114 SW 10th Topeka KS 66604. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
