Helen Barbara Feist was born April 2, 1919, to Joseph and Marianna (Giesinger) Feist at Strasburg, N.D., where she was raised and graduated from Strasburg High School. Helen received a teaching certificate and taught in rural schools near Strasburg for several years. Helen married Everett J. Beckler Nov. 21, 1938, at Strasburg. They moved to a farm near Onaka, S.D., where they lived and farmed for many years. They sold the farm in October 1962 and moved to Aberdeen. They purchased the B & M Superette which they owned and operated for several years. They retired in 1967 and sold the grocery store to their son-in-law, which later became Heinz Market. Everett passed away in April 1978 and Helen continued to make Aberdeen her home. Helen married Adam J. Dosch Jan. 15, 1983, at Aberdeen. Adam passed away in March 1987 and Helen has resided at Mother Joseph Manor since September 2002. Helen was a member of the Women of the Moose, Royal Neighbors, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, St. Luke's Auxiliary, Womens Relief Corp, Tabitha, RSVP, Catholic Daughters and St. Mary's Altar Society. Helen enjoyed the many years she volunteered at the Alexander Mitchell Library and at St. Luke's Hospital. She also enjoyed playing bingo, cards, reading and crocheting. Surviving Helen are three daughters, Darlene Jangula of Aberdeen, Sharon (Paul) Heinz of Aberdeen and Connie (Daniel) Kaup of Aberdeen, one son, Sidney (Betty) Beckler of Aberdeen, one stepdaughter, two stepsons, one sister, Barbara Eberle of Klamath Falls, Ore., nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, four brothers, six sisters and one stepdaughter. Pallbearers will be Delbert Kaup, Timothy Heinz, Paula Beckler, Randy Gehring, Edward Moch and Jimmy Johnson. Published in the Aberdeen News on 2/26/2006.
