Description	:	TWIN BRIDGES - Betty Whiting, 79, of Twin Bridges passed away Saturday, May 17, at her home in Twin Bridges. Betty was born March 7, 1929 at Laurin, to John and Helen (Bock) Brown. She attended grade schools in Laurin, Robber's Roost, and Alder. She later attended and graduated from high school in Virginia City. Betty married Burton Whiting May 31, 1947. They were married 61 years this year. Burton and Betty moved to Twin Bridges in 1952. She worked as a daycare provider, helping raise many of the children of Twin Bridges. Betty was active in the VFW Auxillary... Read More	TWIN BRIDGES - Betty Whiting, 79, of Twin Bridges passed away Saturday, May 17, at her home in Twin Bridges. Betty was born March 7, 1929 at Laurin, to John and Helen (Bock) Brown. She attended grade schools in Laurin, Robber's Roost, and Alder. She later attended and graduated from high school in Virginia City. Betty married Burton Whiting May 31, 1947. They were married 61 years this year. Burton and Betty moved to Twin Bridges in 1952. She worked as a daycare provider, helping raise many of the children of Twin Bridges. Betty was active in the VFW Auxillary and the Church of the Valley. She enjoyed camping, fishing, flower gardening, and her numerous trips with her husband. She especially had a soft spot for her grandchildren, whom she dearly loved. Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Dan Brown, and a granddaughter, Renee Briggs. Survivors include her husband, Burton Whiting of Twin Bridges; daughter, Cheryl and Rueben Briggs of Ennis; son, Bruce and Pat Whiting of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughter, Sheila and Allen Bates of Merridian, Idaho; and six grandchildren. Memorials: Church of the Valley Twin Bridges, 59754. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at the Church of the Valley in Twin Bridges with Rev. Ben Nardi officiating. Interment will follow in the Point of Rocks Cemetery at Twin Bridges. K&L Mortuaries of Twin Bridges in charge of arrangements.
