John Whalen, will be Friday, 10 a.m., Dec. 22, at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington. Mrs. Hotle was born Dec. 25, 1907, in Brooklyn, New York. Mrs. Hotle was born Dec. 25, 1907, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of John B. and Mary Ellen (Turley) Smith and was raised and educated in Ottumwa. On Nov. 16, 1926, she married H. Homer "Yike" Hotle in Ottumwa. He preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 1984. She lived in Moline for 42 years and worked in the auditing department of Royal Neighbors for 19 years before retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline and a member of its altar and rosary society. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors retirement club. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia (Mrs. Lee) Mangold, West Chester; a son, John, Moline; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Jones Funeral Home beginning Thursday noon. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening. A memorial has been established for the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, West Chester Heritage Association or Butterworth Parkway lighting project.
