Description	:	MADISON - Helen Catherine Hendsbee, 84, of Madison, went home to the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013. She was born on April 5, 1929, in Anson to Levi and Ellen (Flaherty) LeClair. In her early years, Helen and her family enjoyed going on camping trips with the Hendsbee, Moody and Cowan clans. She was a great fan of the Madison Bulldogs, going to many sports events -- especially Saturday football games. She was the biggest cheerleader of her two sons and her nephews. She was also a huge Red Sox and Patriots fan. Helen was the first woman to serve... Read More	MADISON - Helen Catherine Hendsbee, 84, of Madison, went home to the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013. She was born on April 5, 1929, in Anson to Levi and Ellen (Flaherty) LeClair. In her early years, Helen and her family enjoyed going on camping trips with the Hendsbee, Moody and Cowan clans. She was a great fan of the Madison Bulldogs, going to many sports events -- especially Saturday football games. She was the biggest cheerleader of her two sons and her nephews. She was also a huge Red Sox and Patriots fan. Helen was the first woman to serve on the town of Madison's Board of Selectmen. There she served two terms. After retiring from Norrwock Shoe, Doug Hoskins Oil Co. and Webber Oil, she enjoyed camping at Happy Horseshoe Campground with her husband, Bud. She loved her church family at United Baptist Church. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Levi and Ellen LeClair; 10 siblings; a son, Alfred Hendsbee; and a grandson, Ricky Hendsbee. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harold "Bud" Hendsbee; son Rick Hendsbee and Jeanne Dube, of Sidney; grandchildren Luke Hendsbee and his wife, Liz, of Winslow, and Adam Hendsbee and his wife, Rachel, of Fairfield; great-grandchildren Gunnar, Katie and Kevin; brother Larry LeClair and his wife, Linda, of Lebanon, N.H.; sister Bea Taylor and her husband, Fred, of Madison; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christ Community Fellowship Church, 41 Maple St., Madison, ME 04950. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
