She was a life-long member of Cordova United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir and the Bessie Diggs Circle. She is survived by three sons, Malcolm Lear and wife, Ruth of Burgaw, Billy Lear and wife, Jenny Sue of Marion, S.C., and Frank Lear and wife, Debbie of Shallotte; six grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Hawkins of Asheville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Brant Lear; a son, Robert Gerald Lear; and five siblings, Henry, Robert, Jimmy, Ettie, and Luther. The honor of performing as pallbearer will be her grandsons and great grandsons. The Funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Cordova United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Simmons, the Rev. Thornton Hawkins and the Rev. James Hinson officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park in Rockingham. Richmond County Daily Journal
