She was born February 13, 1910, at Eureka, the daughter of Emil and Lucy (Hembre)Martin. Read More	Helen Eleanor Evenson, 89, former Eureka resident, of Junction City, Ore., died Tuesday March 2, 1999, at the Scared Heart Medical Ceneter in Eugene, Oregon. She was born February 13, 1910, at Eureka, the daughter of Emil and Lucy (Hembre)Martin. She was raised in the Eureka area and attended local schools On October 18, 1934, she was united in marriage to Otis N. Evenson at Eureka. They made their home in Eureka community until 1960 when they moved to Milo, MO. He preceded her in death on January 17, 1990 and following his death she moved to Junction City, Ore., to be near her son and family. She is survived by one son, Kenneth and his wife Glenda of Junction City, Ore.; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; two brothers, Dick and Frank Martin, both of California and five sisters, Lucille Bestrop, Imgene Martinez, Judy Kruse and Sally Martin, all of California, and Jeri Nelson of Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son Burl Evenson. Graveside service and interment were held Saturday, March 6, at the Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka with Pastor Joe Wold of Christ Lutheran Church in Eureka officiating. The family request memorials be made in her memory to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements by Campbell-Kelly Funeral Home, Eureka. From Eureka Herald March 11, 1999.
