Per FAG Contributor Angela ====================================================================== Helen Ethel Rankin married Herman Maddy on February 25, 1920, in Helen's father's home in North Knoxville, Marion County. Helen Ethel Maddy, 98, of Knoxville died of a heart attack Tuesday at Knoxville Area Community Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery in Marion County. Mrs. Maddy, a retired teacher, lived in Marion County all her life. She is survived by two sons, Paul of Perry and Keith of Davis, Calif.; two daughters, Joyce Banks and Doris Shawver, both of Knoxville; a sister, Mary Fortner of Pella; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at Williams Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church's radio ministry.
