Description	:	Henry Harvey Rankin, a native of Marion County and former well-known resident southeast of town, died at his home in Knoxville on Sunday, March 27, 1921, at 2:30 PM., after a long sickness with cancer of the stomach, and with which ailment he had been confined to his bed since he underwent a surgical operation in Des Moines several weeks ago. Read More	Henry Harvey Rankin, a native of Marion County and former well-known resident southeast of town, died at his home in Knoxville on Sunday, March 27, 1921, at 2:30 PM., after a long sickness with cancer of the stomach, and with which ailment he had been confined to his bed since he underwent a surgical operation in Des Moines several weeks ago. Deceased was a son of W. J. (William James) and Emaline Rankin and was born in this county July 3, 1860. On October 29. 1890 he was united in marriage with Eliza Haines. She preceded him to the better world dying April 25, 1917. To H. H. and Eliza Rankin four children were born, all still living to mourn the death of their father. They are Mariam, wife of J. G. Mark; Helen, wife of Herman Maddy, and Richard and Mary, who were still at home. The first two mentioned are residents of Knoxville and near vicinity. There is also one grandson, Paul Eugene Maddy. Besides the children, deceased leaves one brother, Wm. W. Rankin and one sister, Mrs. Lestia Blair. One sister, Mrs. Mary Blair is deceased. Harvey Rankin as he was familiarly known was one of the splendid citizens of Marion County. He had been a member of the M.E. Church since early childhood. He was even more than a church member, being well known to many friends as a true christian gentleman. He was a kind husband and father and a good friend and neighbor--one who will be sadly missed from the community. The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church in Knoxville at 2:00 PM Tuesday, conducted by Rev. H. B. Scoles and Rev. R. J. Arms. Burial in Zion Cemetery.
