Description	:	Helen Yancey Ireland Huiett, 87, formerly of Harleyville, died Sunday, at Tidelands Community Hospice, in Georgetown. Funeral services will be 12 noon, Thursday, January 28, 2010, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg. Burial in Four Holes Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tom McElhaney will officiate. THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., in Orangeburg, is in charge of arrangements. Called "Boot" by close friends and relatives, Helen was born September 22, 1922, in Calhoun County to the late Sylvester L. Yancey and the late Mary Kimmerlin Yancey. She worked at Doschers Red and White in Charleston for several years then at Texaland in Walterboro for many years before retiring in 1982. She was a member of Four Holes Baptist Church in Orangeburg. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Benjamin Ireland; three brothers, Solomon, Robert and Stabler Yancey and two sisters, Pearl Rickenbaker and Verna Dantzler. Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Ireland Epps (Al) of Litchfield Beach, SC, and a son, William Bradford Ireland (Karen), of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Donna Myers Mills (Brent) of Lexington, SC, Angela Myers Owens (Woody) of Murrells Inlet, SC, Michael Ireland of Awendaw, SC, and Kristie Ireland of Orlando, FL; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Geddings of St. Matthews, SC, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the funeral home. Visitation will be held, 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., in Orangeburg. The family would like to thank her close friends in Harleyville for their loving attention to "Miss Helen" over the years and also give thanks to St. George Health Care and special thanks to Donna Jean Cutter who was like a daughter.
