Helen died Sunday, October 9, 2011, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska. On August 1, 1949, she was married to Sheridan D. Wells in Butte, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with a son, Larry, who was the joy of Helens life. On August 1, 2011, Helen and Sheridan celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Due to failing health, Helen entered the Golden Living Center of Norfolk in September of 2011. Helen worked for many years at the Becker Drug Store and Jakes Caf, both in Spencer. She was an avid gardener, homemaker, and a Spencer Pirates fan, following her son to many sporting events. She is survived by her husband, Sheridan (currently residing at the Good Samaritan Home in Atkinson, Nebraska); son, Larry, and friend Brenda Hokamp; grandchildren, Jordan Wells and friend Katie Behmer, Austin Wells, and Katie Wells and friend Garet Hurburt, all of Norfolk; brother-in-law, Ernest Larsen of Butte, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Louise Wells of Canada and a host of relatives and friends. Helen was preceded in death by: parents; brothers, Martin, Basil, and Albert; and sisters, Sadie, Marie, Lena, Minnie, and Alice. Burial was in the Union Cemetery, Spencer, NE.
