The following are the obituary accounts of those that occurred in LeMars: Mrs. G. A. (sic/L.) Wernli Helen Foser was born at Guttenberg, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Foser, on July 8, 1863, and when she was a child of three she came with her parents to Sioux City, in 1866. The following year they came to Plymouth county, being among the settlers of Melbourne, in the geographical center of the county and the planned county seat. In 1880 the family came to LeMars, and on October 12, 1881, occurred the marriage to Gottlieb L. Wernli. Mr. and Mrs. Wernli have lived in LeMars ever since. Mrs. Wernli's death occurred on Thursday, July 17. Deceased is survived by her husband, and one son, Wallce. There is also a brother, Albert M. Foser, Minneapolis, and two sisters, Mrs. George Kuhn of Omaha, and Mrs. J. M. Duus of Yankton, S. D. Mrs. Wernli was a member of the Congregational church until it went out of existence, after which she attended St. George's Episcopal. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home, Rev. A. Z. McGogney officiating.
