Gerard Senecal, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. HELEN GENEVIEVE ELIAS is survived by by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers, John, Pete, Leo, Raymond, Christopher, Hubert, Alfred, Ed, Bernard "Ben" Elias, and three sisters, Josephine Beattie, Marguerite Myers and Mary Elias. Helen was born in Doniphan County, Kansas the daughter of John and Mary Margaret "Maggie" Steinweden Elias. She attended the Doniphan Elementary District #13 school having to walk two and one half miles to and from school and attended the Doniphan High School. Helen moved to Atchison, Kansas in 1963 with her two brothers and was engaged in farming, both with row crops and tending livestock on the family farm all her adult life. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the Altar Society of the church. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, ceramics, reading, and playing the schafkopf card game with family and friends and traveled extensively on senior citizen bus trips. Helen assisted in the personal care of her parents, a sister, Josephine Beattie and her brother, Bernard "Ben" Elias until their deaths.
