Alder, 80, of Elizabethtown, Pa., formerly from the Wetonka area, will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, Aberdeen. Rev. Elver Hoefer will be officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Willow Creek Brethren Cemetery rural Leola, S.D. A time of fellowship and luncheon will follow the service at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the mortuary. Helen passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at her daughter's home in Lebanon, Pa. She was the wife of Alfred C. Alder to whom she was married for 58 years. Helen was born March 13, 1925, in Wetonka, S.D., to the late Clarence and Nellie (Heagley) Jones. She was a retired middle school secretary and had also worked as a legal secretary. She attended Quentin United Church of Christ. She enjoyed choir singing, playing the organ, poetry, painting, and bridge. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter Kim, wife of Steven Bade, of Lebanon, Pa.; son Craig, husband of Cathy Alder, of Sacramento, Calif.; brothers, Harold, husband of Betty Gail Jones, of Johnstown, Colo., Lyle Jones of Aberdeen, S.D., Marvin Jones of Leavenworth, Wash., and Chester Jones of Sacramento, Calif., and several nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Jones and Beulah Jones, and one brother, Roy Jones. Published in the Aberdeen News from 6/8/2005 - 6/9/2005.
