Mrs. Maska died Friday in a Portland-area care center of complications related to a stroke. She was 81. She was born in St. Louis on June 30, 1911. Her maiden name was Carr. She lived in Vancouver from 1967 to 1988 and had lived in Oregon since then. She married John James Maska in 1930 in Portland. She was an insurance underwriter for 15 years.... She lived in Vancouver from 1967 to 1988 and had lived in Oregon since then. She married John James Maska in 1930 in Portland. She was an insurance underwriter for 15 years. While she lived in Washington state, she was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She is survived by her sons, James B. of Gresham, Ronald K. of Rancho Santa Maria, Calif., and Richard D. of Los Angeles; sisters, Ivy Marrs of Portland, Pat Carr of Port Angeles, Wash., Mabel Marrs of Vancouver, Wash., and Dorie Mapes of Fall City, Wash.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
