Description	:	Mrs. Helen Kroese, 86, of Hull, passed away Sunday, February 10, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital after a brief illness. Helen was born April 12, 1898, near Middleburg, the daughter of William Kooiker and Clara Kooiker. On February 14, 1924, she married John Kroese, also near Middleburg. They farmed in the Middleburg, Newkirk, and Hull areas, retiring to Hull in 1957. Mr. Kroese passed away June 29, 1974, at Hull. Helen was born April 12, 1898, near Middleburg, the daughter of William Kooiker and Clara Kooiker. On February 14, 1924, she married John Kroese, also near Middleburg. They farmed in the Middleburg, Newkirk, and Hull areas, retiring to Hull in 1957. Mr. Kroese passed away June 29, 1974, at Hull. Mrs. Kroese was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Hull and an associate member of the Helping Hands Society. Survivors include her five daughters, Mrs. Joe (Hilda) Mouw, of Hull; Mrs. Alfred (Clara) Hoogland of Orange City; Mrs. Melvin (Wilmina) Schuiteman, of Sioux Center; Mrs. John (Julianne) Kats, of Hull; and Mrs. Harold (Joyce) De Vries, of Hull; 28 grandchildren, 45 greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Miss Mary Kooiker of Hull; and Mrs. Arie (Jennie) Vander Weide, of Sioux Center. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kroese was preceded in death by a son-in-law, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, and a sister. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 13, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull, with the Rev. William D. Van Dyken officiating. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery in Hull, under the direction of the Kraai – Oolman Funeral Home of Hull. Sioux County Index 1985-02-13.
