Description	:	Funeral services for Helen L. Tyler, 81, of Creighton were held on Monday, January 13, 2002 at the United Methodist Church in Creighton. Reverend Ken Purscell officiated the 10:30 a.m. service with interment in the Greenwood Cemetery in Creighton. Helen Lucille Tyler, daughter of Albert and Anna (Nansen) Hoferer, was born July 2, 1921 in rural Creighton, Nebraska. She was one of five children growing up on the farm. Helen attended Salem County rural school and graduated from Creighton High School in 1940. She worked as a telephone operator at Northern Telephone Company for a few years. She was married to Elwin "Mike" Tyler at the Methodist Church in Creighton. The couple moved to Fremont, where Helen worked as a supervisor in the Ordinance Plant at Mead and as a waitress at a cafe in Schuyler. Later they moved back to Creighton, where they owned and operated Tyler Trucking for many years. She was the bookkeeper for their business. She passed away January 7, 2003 at the age of 81. Her survivors include her son and his wife, Larry and Donna Tyler of Creighton, her daughter and her husband, Pat and Dr. Mylon Filkins of Bakersfield, CA. six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwin, three brothers, Bruce, David and Ivan Hoferer and a sister, Clara Jensen.
