Description	:	CREIGHTON, Neb. -- Helen M. Meyer, 86, of Creighton died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, S.D. after a short illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Verdigre, Neb., with the Rev. Douglas Scheinost officiating Burial will be in St. Ludger Catholic Cemetery, Creighton. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a Catholic Daughters of America rosary at 7 p.m. and a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m., at the church. Helen was born Nov. 20, 1917, in Verdigre, Neb., the daughter of August and Anna (Micek) Kotrous. She graduated from Orchard (Neb.) High School in 1936. She married Albert J. Meyer on Dec. 27, 1938, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Verdigre. He died March 5, 1992, in Creighton. Helen lived on the family farm near Creighton from 1942 until the present time. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, CDA Court St. Catherine Laboure 1802 and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers as well as the American Legion Post 74 Auxiliary. Helen enjoyed baking, especially kolaches and bread. She also enjoyed the outdoors, including mowing her large yard with the riding lawn mower and feeding and watching all kinds of birds. Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Mardene and Delane Dalton, of Plainview, Neb.; a son and his wife, Kenneth and Marlene Meyer, of Creighton; a daughter-in-law, Jill Meyer, of Falls City, Neb.; two sisters, Elsie Frisch and her husband, Joe, of Madison, Neb. and Dorothy Zila of Pierce, Neb.; 12 grandchildren and their spouses, Jerry and Teri Bryce, Jadene and Nevin Eldon, Janette and Christopher Dwyer, Jason and Jeri Bryce, Deron and Ginger Meyer, Denise and Brian Daake, David Meyer, Robert Meyer, Rory Meyer, Michael and Sue Meyer, Alan and Dana Meyer and Julie and Thomas Howard; and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Albert, she was preceded in death by a son, A. James Meyer; a son-in-law, Jim Bryce; and two brothers, Marvin and Bill Kotrous. Active and honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and their spouses. Memorials may be made in her name to American Legion Post 74 Auxiliary in Creighton, Neb.
