Read More	Obituary from The Independent Record 7/20/2009: Helen Madeleine Kropp (Dagenais) Burns passed away July 16, 2009, at her residence at the Waterford from natural causes. Helen was born Oct. 28, 1919, in Great Falls. She was raised on the Kropp family farm near Brady. She attended schools in Brady and Great Falls. While visiting her sister, Clara, in Helena, Helen met and fell in love with Perrin (Dice) Dagenais. They were married by a justice of the peace in White Sulphur Springs in a double wedding ceremony with Dick and Sis Sparing. Helen and Dice had one son, Terry Dagenais. They were later divorced. In 1954 Helen married Robert F. (Bob) Burns. Helen and Bob were co-owners of Thurber Printing Company. Helen worked for several years for the Western Life Insurance Company. She was an avid bowler, winning many trophies with her team and was a member of the Eagles Lodge for over 50 years. Helen and Bob enjoyed many social activities in conjunction with Bob's membership in several Masonic bodies, especially the Algeria Shrine Clown Patrol. In the summer they enjoyed taking their camper to local campsites. In the winter they would spend several months visiting family in Apache Junction, Ariz. Helen and Bob loved having a good time! Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Madeleine (Von Bank) Kropp, her two sisters, Clara Connors and Beatrice Schultz; her brother, Warren (Hank) Kropp, and her former husband, Dice Dagenais. She is survived by her son, Terry (Carol Ann); her grandsons, Steven and Michael (Jerri) Dagenais; step granddaughter, Dorrance Davis Bickford of Charlotte, N.C.; great grandchildren, Taylor and Michaela of Helena, Nicole of Seattle, W A and Shawn and Seth of Shelby; and one great-great grandson. She is also survived by: her niece, Patricia Ann Moore of Los Angeles, CA; great-nieces, Debbie Beyers Pierce and family of Dillon, Audrey Beyers Todd and family of Helena, and Vicki Kropp Horton and family of Helena; great-nephews, Bobby Beyers of Toston and Bill Kropp and family of Missoula; beloved sister-in-law, Mary Lou Kropp; former daughter-in-law, Carol Jean Dagenais; and special friends, Rosemary Graveley, Sara M. Knigge, Michel Malban and Helen Goetz Morrison. A family memorial service celebrating Helen's life will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Hagler Anderson Mortuary. Memorials may be sent in Helen's name to: Shriner's Children's Hospital Transportation Fund, P.O. Box 1174, Helena, MT 59624, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
