Funeral service at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, burial at the Osage Cemetery. Helen was born on July 20, 1929, the daughter of Randall and Selma (Johnson) Perkins in Lyle, Minnesota. She graduated from Lyle High School in 1947 and married Keith I. Funk on August 13, 1947. They shared their early years together in Austin, Minnesota, where Keith was a city firefighter and Helen was a stay-at-home mom raising two daughters. They spent the last 28 years together retired on their farm in Osage, Iowa, where they built their dream home together. Helen was an gifted artist and musician. She played the piano by ear and loved music. She developed her artistic skills by devoting many hours to them on the farm. She was an accomplished oil painter, wood carver, rosemaler, and stained glass artist. Her many creations will be enjoyed by her family. Helen is survived by her two daughters, Marlene (Norman) Hopkins of Rochester, Minnesota, and Margaret (Loren) Brumm of Iowa City, Iowa; four grandchildren, Denise Hopkins of Rochester, Minnesota, Chris (Julee) Sylvester of Blaine, Minnesota, Maria (Pete Meilestrup) Brumm of Seattle, Washington, and Heathe (Steve) Green of Des Moines, Iowa; and great-grandchildren.
