She was born Feb. 7, 1923, to Grover Thomas and Beulah (Geiger) Soldner in Springfield, Ill. They preceded her in death. She married Wayne B. Topham June 9, 1946, in Bluffton, Ohio. He preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1984. She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church of Ft. Smith and a former member of Bethel College Mennonite Church of North Newton. Topham, 77, died Monday (Sept. 18, 2000) at her residence in Fort Smith. She was born Feb. 7, 1923, to Grover Thomas and Beulah (Geiger) Soldner in Springfield, Ill. They preceded her in death. She married Wayne B. Topham June 9, 1946, in Bluffton, Ohio. He preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1984. She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church of Ft. Smith and a former member of Bethel College Mennonite Church of North Newton. She was a founding member of the Newton NOMADS and the Sundowners retired campers. She was a 1945 graduate of Bethel Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing. She served at Bethel Deaconess Hospital from 1946 until retiring in 1982. She was the nursing house supervisor from 1950 to 1958 and from 1968 until 1982. She was assistant director of nursing service from 1958 until 1969. Survivors include: two sons, the Rev. Michael Topham of Fort Smith, Ark., and Roger Topham of Virginia Beach, Va.; one brother, Paul Soldner of Aspen, Colo.; one sister, Louise Farling of Pandora, Ohio; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son, Thomas B. Topham. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Restlawn Gardens of Memory with Pastor Heidi Regier Kreider of Bethel College Mennonite Church officiating. Friends and family may sign the book 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home. Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Bethel College Mennonite Church. Memorials have been established with Bethel College Mennonite Church in care of the funeral home
