Michael Hartwell officiating. Memorials may be made to charity of choice. Mrs. Hofsetz was born June 30, 1905 in Exira, Iowa, to Oscar "Bud Ward and Tena Lile Ward. In 1910 she moved with her family to a homestead west of Peetz. She attended Stoney Buttes grade school and worked for neighbors. She married Edward "Ted" Andersen, July 30, 1925 in Greeley. They farmed in Proctor and Sterling areas. In 1935 they moved to Kimberly, Idaho where they farmed until his death in Sept. 1942. She moved the family to Padroni. For many years she cooked for the Padroni school lunch program. For several years she worked in Sterling as a care giver for several families and as a housekeeper at St.Anthony's Catholic Parish. In 1976, she married John Hofsetz of Sterling. Mr. Hofsetz died of cancer in July 1982. In 1986 Helen moved to Flagler, Cob, where she resided until 1993 when she moved to Greeley, where she lived until her death. Mrs. Hofsetz is survived by her seven sons, Homer and wife Shirley Andersen of Brush; Howard and wife Betty Andersen of Greeley; Edward and wife Jo Andersen of Greeley; Bob and wife Judy Andersen of Ft. Collins; Leonard and wife Jan Andersen of Mesa, Ariz.; Dick and wife Betty Andersen of Fresno, Calif.; Bill and wife Linda Andersen of Boulder; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Phyllis) McNear of Sterling; Betty and husband Ralph Bredehoft of Flagler; nieces and nephew; 30 grand children; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great great- granddaughter. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Mary Tena; brothers Harve, Clyde, Chancy and Woodrow Ward; sister Rose Ward; son-in law James McNear of Sterling; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
