Description	:	Helen Pearl Britt, age 88, of Leon, Iowa, daughter of Oscar Pearl and Lucinda Fayetta (Haines) Britt, was born July 1, 1928, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. She died at Westview Acres in Leon, Iowa on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Helen grew up in Council Bluffs, Newton, and Colfax, Iowa. After high school, she went to Illinois to take care of the children of her brother, Tommy, and her sister, Beulah. In 1969, after Helen’s mother’s death, she moved to the Davis City, Iowa farm. She died at Westview Acres in Leon, Iowa on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Helen grew up in Council Bluffs, Newton, and Colfax, Iowa. After high school, she went to Illinois to take care of the children of her brother, Tommy, and her sister, Beulah. In 1969, after Helen’s mother’s death, she moved to the Davis City, Iowa farm. She worked in the kitchen of the County Home and then Leon Care Center. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to old country music and watching RFD television. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; and siblings, Shirley Meyers, Thomas Britt, Glen Britt, George Britt, Beulah Sholley, and Betty Jean Britt. Survivors include her nephew, Jerry Meyers and friend, Joy Wallace of Davis City, Iowa; nieces, Joyce Meyers of Davis City, Lori Foreman of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Susan Halverson and husband, Mike of Orion, Illinois; great nieces and nephews, Alex Foreman and partner, Jeff Bazer, Nathan Foreman and fiancé, Amanda Calieu, Drew Halverson, Eric Halverson, and Amanda Thomas and husband, Eric; and other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery, Colfax, Iowa on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Max Carmichael officiating.
