The funeral for Helge Lien, 79, Bowdon, North Dakota, will be 2 pm Saturday in Bowdon School Gymnasium with burial at Heaton cemetery, North Dakota. He died Tuesday, August 13, 1985. Helge Lien was born March 24, 1906 at Woonsocket, South Dakota, in 1912 he moved with his parents to a farm near Heaton, where he grew up and attended school. He began farming with his father at a young age and later took over the family farm. He married Ruth Weld October 24, 1928 at Heaton. They farmed near there until retiring in 1971 when they moved into Bowdon. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Orland of Bowdon and Lester of Harvey, North Dakota; three sisters Mrs. Johnny (Gladys) Bertsch, Pettibone, North Dakota; Stena Bauer, Watertown, South Dakota, and Lillian Koltes, Cour d'Alene, Idaho; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
