Ruth Weld was born September 4, 1910 on the family homestead near Bowden, Kidder County, North Dakota to Clifford and Alta Weld. She got her education in Heaton and graduated from Heaton High School. She received her teaching degree from Valley City State University. Ruth taught in the North Dakota school system for many years. She married Helge Lien on October 24, 1928 and they farmed near Heaton all of their married life. They had a family of four, two infants died... Read More	RUTH LIEN, 94, OF BISMARCK died Friday, August 26, 2005 in the Baptist Home, Bismarck, North Dakota. Ruth Weld was born September 4, 1910 on the family homestead near Bowden, Kidder County, North Dakota to Clifford and Alta Weld. She got her education in Heaton and graduated from Heaton High School. She received her teaching degree from Valley City State University. Ruth taught in the North Dakota school system for many years. She married Helge Lien on October 24, 1928 and they farmed near Heaton all of their married life. They had a family of four, two infants died shortly after they were born. In 1971 they retired to live in Bowdon. After Helge passed away she moved to Bismarck. Surviving are her sons, Orland (Myrtle) of Mandan and Lester (Linda) of Harvey, North Dakota. Also surviving are six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral service was on Wednesday at 1:30 at the Baptist Home Chapel, Bismarck, with a short service at the grave site at 5 pm at the Heaton Cemetery, Heaton, North Dakota.
