She was united in marriage to Henry Vermeer on Jan 4, 1883, nearly 65 years ago at Orange City. Since that time they have always lived in Sioux County on a farm near Sioux Center, until 23 years ago when they moved to Sioux Center. She had been a member of the First Ref. Church for over 65 years and a charter member of the Senior Ladies Mission Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Vermeer, December... Read More	Obituary Mrs. Henry Vermeer, nee Hendrika te Grootenhuis, died on Thursday morning, July 31, at 10:30 o'clock. She was united in marriage to Henry Vermeer on Jan 4, 1883, nearly 65 years ago at Orange City. Since that time they have always lived in Sioux County on a farm near Sioux Center, until 23 years ago when they moved to Sioux Center. She had been a member of the First Ref. Church for over 65 years and a charter member of the Senior Ladies Mission Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Vermeer, December 23, 1930, and her daughter Henrietta who died at the age of one year in 1900 and son William who died at the age of 40 years on March 15, 1942. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Henry De Vries, Mrs. Albert Schimmel, Henry, and Theodore all of Sioux Center, Jake of Grand Rapids, Mich., Peter of Yakima, Wash., Joe of Ames, Iowa, John of Orange City and Mrs. Harold Beernink of Maurice, Iowa; 32 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
