Culbertson, Carroll pioneer, at 6 o'clock last evening at her home, 821 North Adams street. She was 93 years old. Mrs. Culbertson had been ill the last eight weeks. Funeral services are to be at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon at the Huffman Funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Clark of Fort Dodge, rector of the Episcopal church, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in the Carroll cemetery. The body is resting at the funeral home until the time of the rites. Mrs. Culbertson, who had lived in Carroll nearly 60 years, was well known in women's club work here. She had been a member of the Clio club since 1887. In recent years the club made her an honorary life member, an honor held by no other Clio member at this time. She was a charter member of Priscilla Alden chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Culbertson's maiden name was Henrietta A. Bell. A daughter of Dr. George L. and Eliza A. Fairbanks Bell, she was born February 5, 1853, at Roxbury, Mass. She was a member of a large family. When she was a young girl, the family moved to Chicago, where she saw the great fire in 1871. She attended the Chicago public schools and was graduated from high school there. Her marriage to Robert Y. Culbertson took place March 16, 1876, at Princeton, Iowa. From the time of their marriage until March 1887, when they located in Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. Culbertson lived on their farm south of Glidden. Mr. Culbertson entered the grain buying business here in 1887. He was in this business at the time of his death, May 9, 1904. Besides her husband, Mrs. Culbertson was preceded in death by a son, Franklin B., who died at the age of five years. She was the last member of a family of nine brothers and sisters. Mrs. Culbertson leaves one son, Frederick H. Culbertson, and one daughter, Mrs. F.H. Cooney (Clara B.), both of Carroll; one granddaughter, Mrs. Robert W. Beste (Helen Adelaide Culbertson), St. Charles, Mo., and one grandson, Frederick P. Culbertson, Carroll. Mrs. Culbertson lived with her son-in-law and daughter, Judge and Mrs. Cooney. She was a member of the Episcopal church.
