Description	:	The funeral for Henrietta B. Ray , 99, of Oakland, formerly of Dalzell, S.C., will be 2 p.m. Monday at Long Branch Baptist Church in Dalzell. She died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Oakland Heights in Oakland. Henrietta Benenhaley was born June 12, 1904, on a farm near Sumter, S.C. She lived near Sumter for many years. Prior to her marriage to Herbert Ray , she taught rural school near Dalzell. Following her marriage, she worked on the farm. Her spouse preceded her in death in 1975. Henrietta Benenhaley was born June 12, 1904, on a farm near Sumter, S.C. She lived near Sumter for many years. Prior to her marriage to Herbert Ray , she taught rural school near Dalzell. Following her marriage, she worked on the farm. Her spouse preceded her in death in 1975. She moved to Oakland in 1975 to be near her daughter, Bertie. She stayed in Oakland for about seven years and then returned to her home in South Carolina. She returned to Oakland in May 2000, living at Oakland Heights Assisted Living. She moved to Oakland Heights Nursing Home in October 2002 due to declining health. She was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church in Dalzell. Survivors include: a son, Charles (and wife, Mary) Ray of Sumter; two daughters, Ruth Lowrey of Sumter and Bertie J. Noordhoek of Oakland; a sister, Lucille Ray of Dalzell; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, five brothers and four sisters. Burial will be in Long Branch Baptist Cemetery in Dalzell.
