Henrietta Knock was born on September 14, 1918, at Lennox, SD the daughter of Henry and Lena (Klinghagen) Knock. She grew up and attended rural school in the Lennox area. Henrietta Knock was born on September 14, 1918, at Lennox, SD the daughter of Henry and Lena (Klinghagen) Knock. She grew up and attended rural school in the Lennox area. On April 23, 1939 she married Hayo Gayken at Highmore, SD. The couple made their home in Lennox. Henrietta was active in the family farming operation. She was also employed as a custodian for the Lennox High School for over 15 years. Husband, Hayo died in 1967. Henrietta was an active member of Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. She was active in Lincoln County 4H and enjoyed attending the South Dakota State Fair. She played in the Kitchen Band and also enjoyed camping and dancing. Besides her parents and husband, Henrietta was preceded in death by her daughter, Georgette Harms in 1991 and siblings: Henry Knock in 1961, Lena Knock in 1982 and George Knock in 2007.
