Thus the difference in spelling of his parents. ************************************************************************************** Henry "Dutch" Hanzlick was born March 20,1905, at Lawrence, Neb. He died of cancer Feb. 16, 1991, at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital in Fairbury, Neb., at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 27 days. He attended school at Lawrence. He traveled with the Strongs Carnival from town to town during which time he met Erma Croft at Scottsbluff, Neb. Several years later on July 5, 1942, they were married in Topeka, Kan. The two of them continued traveling with the carnival, owning and operating concession stands. In 1947-48 they lived in Portland, Ore., where they ran a restaurant. They then came back to Nebraska to be with the carnival. The couple decided to open a business in Fairbury, Dutch's Radiator Shop. The carnival occupied their time during the summer and the shop during the winter. Due to increased business in their shop it demanded their full time. In 1974 they sold the business and bought a home on C. street in Fairbury and retired. Preceding him in death was a sister, Christine Reiman, and brothers, Joe and William. Survivors include his wife, Erma; daughter, Shirley DeFord of Portland, Ore.; brothers, George of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Albert of Lincoln; sister, Susan SIaby of Red Cloud; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mass was held at St. Michael's Catholic Church Feb. 20 with Father Douglas Fuller officiating. Burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery at Lawrence. Pallbearers were Harold Siegel, Francis Horky, Sig Quam, Herman Wiedel, Sylvester Nespor and Tucker Juarez. Obituary from Jenny Watton.
