Description	:	Funeral services for Henry A. Strickland, 86, a lifelong resident of this community, were held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Paul C. Ellis. Mr Strickland died Tuesday evening, September 11, 1956 at Rosary Hospital in Corning after an extended illness. The singing at the funeral was by Cecil Weaver, accompanied by Mrs. Frances Wheeler and in charge of flowers were Mrs. Helen Still. Mrs. Betty Wolfe and Mrs. Dorothy North. Henry Albert Strickland was born February 7, 1879 near North Page, Page County, Iowa to John and Rebecca McNeal Strickland. He grew to manhood in this vicinity. On February 24, 1904, he was married to Gertrude Mae Williams and moved to a farm four and one half miles south of Villisca. At this time he became a member of the Methodist Church, with which he was established until his death. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; two sons, Claude of Deadwood, South Dakota and Darwin of Villisca; one daughter Maxine Louden of Clarinda and four grandchildren.
