He died on 24 Feb 1895 in Nebraska. Henry Bascom Parvin served in Illinois Cavalry at age 17. Enlisted at Bushnell, McDonaugh County, Illinois, on 1 Sep 1861, as a corporal in Co. He died on 24 Feb 1895 in Nebraska. Henry Bascom Parvin served in Illinois Cavalry at age 17. Enlisted at Bushnell, McDonaugh County, Illinois, on 1 Sep 1861, as a corporal in Co. L, 7th Ill Cavalry Regmt. Was severly wounded by a kick in the head by a horse near Corinth, Miss., while en route to La Grange, Tenn., on 10 Nov 1862. Mustered out at Springfield, Illinois., on 15 Oct 1864. After discharge, Henry lived at Bushnell, McDonough County, Illinois, to 1870 then Nelson, Kansas, and Fullerton, Nance County, Nebraska. Parents: Hiram PARVIN and Harriet BATEMAN. He was married to Elizabeth Jane MAEL on 29 Oct 1870 in Near Ashland, Iowa. Children were: Mary Alice Bertha PARVIN, John O. PARVIN, Henry Otis PARVIN. --------------- Thanks to contributor #47343179; Born in New Jersey, moved to Bushnell, Illinois at age 14, where he remained until the breaking out of the Civil War....was instrumental in the organization of a G.A.R. post at Aurora, Kansas, near which city he resided. He became a member of the Masonic fraternity...Left Kansas in the year 1891 and settled in Washington territory and there remained until the winter of 1893 at which time he came to Nance county....member of M. E. church since age 16, held high and responsible positions.... Died quite suddenly at his residence six miles southwest of Fullerton, on the Loup, of cholera morbus....funeral conducted by Masonic fraternity... Survivors are a wife, two sons and one daughter....
