Read More	Kenesaw Progress (Kenesaw, NE)- Thu. Aug 23, 1934 - Page 1 Henry Bohlke Dies At His Home Monday Henry Bohlke was born near Cinciniati (sic), Ohio, on the 23rd of April, 1853. When a child he moved with his parents to Ripley county (sic) Indiana, where he grew to manhood, where he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the age of 14 years. He was married to Caroline Luhring on April 27, 1876. Following their marriage they moved to Huntley, Illinois, where they resided three years. In 1880 the immigrated to Nebraska and homesteaded four miles southeast of Kenesaw. They were among the pioneer settlers in that vicinity. To this union were born 11 children, 5 dying in infancy. In 1893 Mrs. Bohlke passed away and in 1900 he was united in marriage to Philipine Harves. In 1916 they left the farm and moved to Kenesaw. Mr Bohlke had been ailing for about a year, and a week ago took seriously ill, pasing (sic) away on Monday morning, August 20 at 6:40 a.m. He had attained the wonderful old age of 81 years, 3 months and 28 days. He is survived by his wife, five sons John C., Frank H., Gus W., and Elmer M., all of Kenesaw, and Henry F., one daughter Mrs. Ernest Huckfeldt, of Holstein; eighteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; four brothers and one sister, residing at Milan, Indiana, Funeral services were conducted in St Paul's Lutheran Church Wednesday afternoon, by Rev, Victor Hoffmann, of Hayland, in the absence of the pastor, Rev. H. F. Ramelow, who with his family are visiting in St. Louis, Mo. Burial was in Kenesaw cemetery It is not death to fling Aside this sinful dust And rise, on strong, exulting wing, To live among the just. Jesus, Thou Prince of Life, Thy chosen can not die: Like Thee, they conquer in the strife To reign with Thee on high.
