Description	:	H. Burton Loftis H. burton Loftis, 67, lifelong resident of the Iva community, died at the Anderson Hospital about 10 o'clock last night following a brief illness. Mr. Loftis suffered a stroke at his home Tuesday, and was brought to the local hospital Wednesday morning. His condition had been regarded as grave from the first. Born and reared in Anderson County, Mr. Loftis was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John A. Loftis, and was a devoted and active member of the Hebron Methodist Church near Starr since early in life. He leaves a wide circle of relatives and friends who will learn of his passing with deep regret. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Kate Gable Lofis: nine sons, L. S. Loftis of Lyman, J. E., F. A., Joe, Fred, Aubrey, and Marvin Loftis, all of the Iva section, and Wade Loftis of Starr: four sisters, Mrs. W. D. Latham, Mrs. J. L. Burdette, Mrs. Pearl Latham, and Mrs. Walter Langston, all of Anderson county: four half-sisters, Mrs. A. L. Welborn, Mrs. J. P. Smith, Mrs. Cecil Smith, and Mrs. J. L. Welborn, and his step-mother, Mrs. J. A. Loftis, all of Anderson. Funeral services will be held from the Hebron Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. M. M. Brooks, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.
