Henry Calvin, son of William and May Spore Newton, was born Jan. 9, 1910, at Waterloo. He grew to young manhood in Waterloo and received his education in the schools of Waterloo . Following his schooling he drove for the Yellow Cab company in Waterloo for five years and then entered the employ of the John Deere company until 1962 when he became disabled because of a heart condition. Mr. Newton was twice married. His first wife, Belle, passed away Feb. 8, 1968. He was united in marriage with Maxine May Rohle on April 17, 1971, and following their marriage they made their home in Manchester. He is survived by his wife, three step daughters, Ms. Tom (Jamee) Maynard of Waterloo, Mrs. Donald (Shirley) Buttolph of Blaine, Minn., and Mrs. Tip (Mabel) Purdy of LaPorte City, seven step-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Bud Welch at LaPorte City. He was preceded in death by his first wife, by his parents and one brother in law. Contributed by #48278241
