Death was caused by cerebral hemorrhage. Henry Dekker was born Feb. 17, 1892 at Elburg, Netherlands. When a young man he came to the United States, which was 31 years ago. He has lived 22 years near Ireton. He has one son, John Dekker, living in Ireton. Henry Dekker passed away on July 25, 1941 having reached the age of 49 years, 5 months and 8 days. Those who mourn his death are his widow and one son, John, two grandchildren, one brother in California, one sister, Mrs. Henry Stijf of Elkton, S.D., and two brothers still in Holland. Henry Dekker was highly thought of by all his friends and neighbors, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 29, at the Christian Reformed Church here in Ireton with the Rev. J.R. Van Dyke officiating. Interment Was made at Sioux Center. Pallbearers were Jake Altena, Frank Wynia, Jake Grandstra, Henry Franke, Clarence De Vos and Gerrit Wabeke. Sincere sympathy is extended to this family. Ireton Ledger 1941-07-31.
