The body of Henry Fedde, a renter on the farm of Colonel James H. Pratt, was found under his wagon at the crossing of the Military road and the north and south road, two and a half miles southwest of Bennington, Tuesday morning. The team and wagon had rolled down a fifteen-foot enbankment and Fedde was pinioned under the wagon. His skull was fractured, shoulder crushed and other injuries sustained which mush have caused instant death. The horses were entangled in a barbwire fence and horribly lacerated. Fedde took some corn to market Monday and started home late in the evening. Coroner Heafey went to Benington Tuesday noon and conducted an inquest at which the following verdict was returned : "We, the jury, find that Henry Fedde came to his death by being pinned under the wagon so as to cause death and recommend that the county commissioners fix this dangerous part of the road and prevent any further accidents at the intersection of the Military road and the road north and south. We further find that the fracture of the skull was sufficient to cause death if nothing else.-- W. A. Witte, Henry Neumeger, P. Grothesun, William F. Voss, Chris Bernz, Peter Christenson." Two other serious accident have happened at the place where Fedde met his death. Fedde has a wife and two children.
