Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, at the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Sutton with the Reverend Peter Grossmann officiating. Henry Fehr was born on September 15, 1899 at Sutton to Jacob and Eva (Hust) Fehr. He was educated in both town and rural schools. He was baptized in the Reformed faith at the Salem Free Reformed Church of rural Sutton, and confirmed at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Sutton. On June 12, 1921 he married Wilhelmina Ehly. They lived on a farm north of Sutton until 1960, when they moved into town. He retired from farming in 1964. The Fehrs had ten children. In 1986 they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with all of their children and grandchildren present. Mr. Fehr was a member of the Sutton Grain Co-Op Board of Directors, a member of the School Creek Township Board, and a member of the Emmanuel Reformed Church where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Fehr became a resident of the Sutton Community Home in September of 1986. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie in 1987; one son, Raymond in 1959; one grandson; two brothers and three sisters who died in infancy; and five adult sisters, Sarah Schroetlin, Leah Ulmer, Cora Peters, Johanna Zimbelman and Metha Trautman. Survivors include nine children: Gertrude and husband Ray Williams of Ashland; Louise and husband Pete Huebert of York; Harrison Fehr and wife Margarete of Lincoln; Milton Fehr and his wife Rose of Sutton; Thomas Fehr and his wife Velma of Grand Island; Verna Frandson of Grand Island; Henry Fehr, Jr. and wife Jeannine of Sutton; Ronald Fehr and wife Charlotte of Omaha; and Norma and husband James Hannon of San Antonio, TX; 25 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
