Description	:	Henry H. Moore, postmaster at Keosauqua, died at his home Thursday evening, Nov. 8. He died of paralysis, with which he has attacked a year ago last June. For several months past he had been perfectly helpless. Mr. Moore was born March 22, 1835 [gravestone says 1834] in Bedford County, Penn. He died of paralysis, with which he has attacked a year ago last June. For several months past he had been perfectly helpless. Mr. Moore was born March 22, 1835 [gravestone says 1834] in Bedford County, Penn. In 1838 he went with his parents to Perry county, Ohio, and came to Van Buren county in the spring of 1846. December 23, 1858, he was married to Miss Adeline M. Walker of this place. He served as deputy postmaster under President Polk's administration. In 1862 he was appointed post-master at Keosauqua, which office he has tilled ever since, with the exception of about 10 months in 1870-1871. His term of service extended over a little more than 20 years. During all that time he gave universal satisfaction, and was one of the best postmasters in the state, as he was one of the oldest in continuous service. And he was not only a good officer, but a kind-hearted, generous and true man in every relation of life. He was buried on Saturday by E. Chanan commandery, of which he was an honored and beloved member. Source: Newspaper unknown Margaret Johnson Meek Scrapbook Married Adaline M. Walker on 23 December 1858 in Keosauqua, Iowa. Adaline died on 14 January 1913 in San Jose, CA. Her funeral was held in San Jose, but no burial record exists.
