The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8 at the Two Mile Swamp Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Wells officiating. Burial will be in the churchyard. The casket will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Pallbearers will be William Walling, John Thomas, Barry Dozier, Cody Walters, Chazz Moore and Calvin Moore. Mr. Thomas was born in Orangeburg County, a son of the late John Henery Thomas and Blanche Bessinger. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard, and was a member of the Two Mile Swamp Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Nettles and husband, Tim, of Cordova, and Mrs. Deanie Dozier and husband, Frankie, of Branchville; one sister, Mrs. Margorie Duncan of Beaufort; five grandchildren, Angie Walters, Lisa Moore, Dale Nettles, Jimmy Nettles, and Christel Nettles; nine great-grandchildren; and a number if nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Ott Funeral Home in Branchville. Friends may call at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Frankie Dozier, of Branchville.
