Brown, lifelong resident of Henry County and one of the county's most worthwhile and respected residents passed away Monday, January 17, 1928, at the home of his daughter, Ms. Minnie Spraker, on South Jackson Street, a few minutes past midnight, after a year's illness with what the physicians termed paralysis of the nerves. Brown, lifelong resident of Henry County and one of the county's most worthwhile and respected residents passed away Monday, January 17, 1928, at the home of his daughter, Ms. Minnie Spraker, on South Jackson Street, a few minutes past midnight, after a year's illness with what the physicians termed paralysis of the nerves. Mr. Brown's illness came on him gradually but nevertheless gripped him with such a strong hold that all that untiring physicians and loving care could do was in vain. He was patient through all and seemed always consigned to the will of the maker that he should thus be afflicted. Mr. Brown was born in West Elkton, Preble County, Ohio, June 14, 1850, and at the time of his death he was 77 years of age. When he was three years of age he moved with his parents to this county and settled on a farm across the road from Cedar Friends Church, seven miles southeast of the city. There some years later, he married Miss Amy Hallowell and to this union four daughters were born, all of which have preceded him in death except the eldest, Mrs. Minnie Spraker, with whom he had made his home for the past several years. His good wife also preceded him in death some thirty-five years ago. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Spraker, and seven grandchildren, Glenna, Myrtle, Hazel, Amy and Arthur and Emmit Spraker and Frances Shelly and hundreds of friends the county over. He was a life long member of the old Quaker church and was also a member of Henry Lodge I.O.O.F., No. 10 and of the Camp and the Rebekah's. Funeral services will be held at the Christian Church Wednesday afternoon at 1:30. The I.O.O.F. lodge will have charge of a portion of the services and internment will take place at Cedar Cemetery.
