Description	:	Henry Burns was the son of Irish-born Peter Burns (1835-1896) and Ohio native Mary Ann (Lynch) Burns (1844-1888.) His parents and numerous siblings lived in Ohio in 1850 and by 1860 had moved to Iowa. In 1870 and 1880 the family lived in Jackson, Winneshiek County, which is probably where Henry was born. Hazel Divers (1889-1911) and Henry Burns (1872-1953) married in Kootenai County, Idaho, November 24, 1909 (the first marriage for both.) The 1910 US Census shows the newlyweds living in Spokane, Washington, with Henry apparently unemployed. Hazel Divers died a week later, on December 16, 1911. Sometime after 1910 Henry acquired a sheet metal manufacturing company in Spokane, which he owned in 1920, 1930, and 1940. Henry remarried circa 1918; Anna C. Burns (born circa 1891 in Minnesota to Danish-born parents) and Henry had one child, an adopted daughter, Mary Ann Burns (born circa 1921.)
