Mr. Husmann, a resident of the Scotch Grove community for more than 62 years, died Jan. 27 in the Senior Home, Monticello, where he had been a resident the past three months. Henry Johnson Husmann was born in Cass Township, near Anamosa on June 24, 1895. He was the son of Frederick J. Husmann and his wife T. Mata Dirks Husmann. He had received his early education in the Jones County rural schools. Following his education he chose farming as his life's vocation. Mr. Husmann was a member of Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, Monticello, and a member of the American Legion Post, Monticello. He had served in the 23rd. Aero Squadron during World War I. Henry J. Husmann and Anna Folkerts were married in Wayne Zion Lutheran Church on Sept 4, 1919. Following their marriage the couple farmed near Scotch Grove, until a few months when he retired from the farm because of his health. He is survived by his wife and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Sayer, Des Moines, and Mrs. Tena Waggoner, Anamosa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Edward. Casket bearers were Daniel Stadtmueller, Richard Stadtmueller, Rolf Craft, Joseph Ruley, James Murray and Leo Waggoner.
