They were the parents of William, Henry, Caroline, Elfrieda, and Arnold. COON RAPIDS ENTERPRISE - Fri, May 1, 1936 - Henry Pevestorf, 76, prominent farmer and member of the Willow township community since 1880 died at his farm home Thursday evening of last week. He had been in poor health for years never having fully recovered after an operation some years ago. Mr Pevestorf was one of the pioneers of the German settlement in Willow township, having lived there 56 years. He died on the farm on which ha had lived for 60 years. Born in Germany he came to Chicago with his parents when a lad of 19 and a couple of years later came to Greene county. He was married in 1884 and in 1886 moved to the place where he has since lived. Funeral services were held last Sunday a the house and at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church in Willow township. Burial was in Willow cemetery. His obituary was prepared by Rev Friedrich follows: Henry Pevestorf was born June 3, 1859 at Holtorf, Hanover Germany where he was baptized. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith April 20, 1873. In 1887 at the age of 19 he came to America with his parents and sister Louise, now Mrs Hachmeister. For two years he worked near Chicago, IL then in Dec 1880 came to the Willow township community. On Nov 30, 1884 he was married to Miss Anna Gustoff who preceded him in death Mary 27, 1931. This union was blessed with five children: William, Henry, Caroline, Elfrieda, and Arnold. Two years after their marriage they moved to their farm in Willow township northeast of Coon Rapids where he lived until his death. Several years ago he underwent an operation from which he somehow never fully recovered. His children did all they could for him during his sickness. He was up and around most of the time. Thursday evening his pastor was called to his bed side. He slept into eternity at 9 pm at the age of 76 years, 10 months, and 20 days. He leaves to mourn his children: William of Prinston, MN; Henry, Caroline, Elfrieda, and Arnold at home; 6 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs Louise Hachmeister.
