Henry Kirkpatrick was born in Pittsburg, Pa., December 25, 1818, and died at the residence of his son, Greely, in Liberty township, this county, Saturday, August 20, 1892, aged 73 years, seven months and 25 days. Mr. Kirkpatrick's parents moved to Jefferson county, Ohio, when he was but two years old, and where he grew to manhood. Henry Kirkpatrick was born in Pittsburg, Pa., December 25, 1818, and died at the residence of his son, Greely, in Liberty township, this county, Saturday, August 20, 1892, aged 73 years, seven months and 25 days. Mr. Kirkpatrick's parents moved to Jefferson county, Ohio, when he was but two years old, and where he grew to manhood. About the year 1845, he moved to Grant county, Indiana, where five years later he was married to Isabella Hanna, who died in 1870, leaving him with four children, one son and three daughters, who still survive. Greely, of Liberty township, Mrs. Clowe and a younger sister who lives with her, in this county, and a married daughter at Joplin, Mo. In 1871 Mr. Kirkpatrick moved to this county and settled on the farm a mile north of town, where he lived until 1884. In 1876 he was elected county commissioner and served for one term, and was made chairman of the board. In 1884 he moved to Cowley county and a few years later to northern Iowa. A year ago he came back to this county aged and broken in health, since which time he made his home with his son Greely.... He was, we think, a member of the Presbyterian church.
