Casket bearers were six nephews. Henry Klippel, son of Henry and Catherine Klippel, was born on a farm near Norway, Iowa on March 4, 1870, and passed from this life on Sunday morning at 7:40 a.m., March 25, 1945, at the home of his son, Floyd, where he had made his home most of the last year, due to illness, at the age of 75 years and 21 days. His father died when he was about 8 months old, and at an early age, he did most of the farm work for his mother until he was a young man. He then entered the grain and lumber business at Lena, Iowa, and after a number of years moved to Gowrie, Iowa where he owned and operated a hardware store for eight years. Disposing of this business, he then moved to Ogden, Iowa, where he bought a grain elevator and implement business, which he operated until 1918. He served on the city council of Ogden for a number of years. In 1924, he and his son, Floyd, with their families moved to Iowa Falls, where he engaged in the insurance and real estate business until his illness and death. He was united in marriage to Ella Tyson who preceded him in death on November 10, 1930. Surviving are his sons, Lou L. of Des Moines, now temporarily located in Virginia, who is now ill at that place; and Floyd, of Iowa Falls; a daughter, Dena, of Iowa Falls; one grandson, Kenneth, who is in England with the Eighth Air Force; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Fox, of Paton, Iowa, and a number of nephews and nieces; and a host of friends. Two brothers, and five sisters preceded him in death. He was baptised in the New Christian church by his uncle, Rev. Kimm. He was a member of the Mason, Odd Fellow, and Knights of Pythias lodges. He was a patient sufferer, a loving husband and father; and a kind friend to all.
