He was born in Germany, January 10, 1882, and came to America with his parents when about six months old. He was sick only a week, and though he suffered greatly was ever patient and gentle with all. He gave his heart to God during his last illness and died happy in Jesus' love. Henry was a kind and loving son and brother and a good boy, loved by all who knew him. He leaves a father, mother, four brothers and four sisters, and a host of friends to mourn his departure, but we know our loss is his gain and we shall meet him by and by. Funeral services were conducted in the M.P. church Tuesday afternoon [20 Sep] by Rev. Scott, and a large procession of sorrowing friends followed the remains to their last resting place in Mt. Hope cemetery. "We take this method to express our gratitude to our many friends for their manifest sympathy and timely assistance during the brief sickness and sad funeral rites of our beloved son Henry."
